Remembering Long Time Resident Gordon Lee Allison

(VVNEWS.com)- Gordon Lee Allison a long time resident of Hesperia California passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015. Gordon was born on November 6, 1946 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Leon and Lucille Allison.

He lived in Roland, Oklahoma before his family moved to Barstow, California in 1964 and he graduated from Barstow High School in 1965. He went to work for Barstow and Hesperia Transfer and Storage from 1966 until 2013, when he retired. He married the love of his life, Gail on December 1, 1973. They lived in Hesperia and raised their 3 children together. Gordon was a hard-working dedicated family man who loved to go fishing, camping, watch NASCAR and baseball on TV, and spoil his grandkids.

Gordon was well known for his meticulous nature and incredible woodworking skills. He loved playing guitar and from time to time you could hear Eagles songs mimicked across the strings of his acoustic. He also had a passion for classic cars, including his 1952 Dodge pick up.

He is survived by his three children. Sons Brian Allison of Greenbrier, Arkansas, and Gordy Allison of Victorville, California, and daughter Mandy Allison of Apple Valley, California. 9 grandchildren: Alyssa, Brandon, Bryce, Nicholas, Ashley, Kamryn, Blake, Brooke, and Kaitlyn, and one great-grandson, Carson. One brother, Gary and three sisters Mary-ann, Marquetta, and Anita and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 35 years, Gail. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him and had the pleasure to shake his hand.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 2 PM at Desert View Memorial Park in Victorville, California.
