(VVNEWS.com)- What the heck did I just watch??? I say that in the best possible way, and whatever it was, I loved it. This flick has some special effects that are breathtaking and downright incredible. I have a feeling that this movie is going to be used, in film schools, as an example of what to do as far as visual effects, for a long, long time. It has, by far, the best 3D effects I have seen in a full-length feature… yup, better than Avatar and even better than when Homer Simpson went into a different dimension in a Halloween episode. I mean, Holy Guacamole, Dr. Strange is truly stunning. Definitely had me grinning and laughing with its humor and in awe during all of the incredible action sequences that I can only think to compare to the movie Inception, but, times 100.
Dr. Steven Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) is a very smart, very skilled and very arrogant neurosurgeon who only looks out for himself despite having the abilities to save many lives. After he gets in an accident that messes up his hands so he can’t perform surgeries anymore, he goes on a quest to find a cure that leads him to a temple where he acquires his mystical superpowers. These powers include the ability to travel through portals into different dimensions and summoning weapons that come in handy when fighting against some magical baddies that, as always, want to mess up our world… Oh and the Dr. also discovers how to care for his fellow humans, and that is always a very nice and special thing to do.
This amazingly fun flick undoubtedly gets the “Checky™ Seal of Approval!” The special effects are what stood out to me the most, specially the scenes where entire cities where bending, flipping, turning and twisting into every possible shape and direction. I would love to go inside the mind of the geniuses who thought of and created all of this. Besides the mind-bending effects, the film also has great humor, great acting and a great story. So I will answer my own question, what the heck did I just watch? 120 minutes of pure spectacularness and I suggest you do the same. So take a portal or drive or whatever, to go watch this breathtaking, jaw dropping and wondrous flick, and make sure to bring a bucket to put all the brain matter in when you have your mind blown away.
