(VVNEWS.com)- On Thursday, October 20, Morgan Kincaid Prep Elementary School’s THINK Together will join the 17th annual Lights On Afterschool, a nationwide series of rallies for afterschool organized by the Afterschool Alliance.
The Lights On Afterschool Open House will feature a club showcase where parents and school leaders will be invited to come & participate in clubs along with the students (Arts & Crafts, International Greetings, International Cooking, and Around the World) with destinations to Earth, France, Brazil and South America. Hundreds of parents, educators and community members are expected to attend. Superintendent, principal, and School Board members are invited.

Last year, 1 million people participated in more than 8,000 Lights On Afterschool events; the Afterschool Alliance expects the same level of participation this year. The events give youth a chance to showcase the skills they learn and talents they develop at their afterschool programs, and to send the message that millions more children and youth need quality afterschool programs.
