Missing Mom Lost Near Mountain High Overnight Rescued

WRIGHTWOOD-( A 51-year-old woman went missing early Sunday morning in Wrightwood near the Mountain High Resort Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Cmdr. Mike Parker said. At 2:42 a.m. her son received a text from the woman letting him know that she was lost.

The woman spent the night alone in the 27 degree temperatures, according to authorities without shoes or socks on in 1-2’ of snow. The vehicle belonging to the woman was found near Mountain High North in the resort parking lot on Angeles Crest Highway.

Crews are searching by ground since Air 5 Rescue is grounded due to the cloudy weather conditions.

The injured woman was located at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. At about 1:05 p.m. LA Sheriff deputies were able to get to the woman to carry her out of the remote area to safety. Her condition is unknown at this time, but according to authorities she appears to be stable at this time. Information will be updated as it is received.

A search team in Wrightwood found a woman who was reported missing overnight in the snow — barefoot. The used U.S. Air Force cell phone tracking technology to locate her.
