LOS ANGELES-(VVNEWS.com): A man that shot and killed a five year old boy that was dressed in a Spiderman costume on Halloween 2010 was sentenced on Thursday to 25 years in state prison the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said. The man identified as, 24-year-old Marcus Denson pleaded guilty to one count of voluntary manslaughter and two counts of attempted murder early in 2013.
Deputy District Attorney Sarika Kim of the Hardcore Gang Division said Leonard Hall, 26, and Denson were members of the Kitchen Crips gang and went into rival gang territory in South Los Angeles on Oct. 31, 2010.
Hall and Denson approached the back of the house where a group of men, including the father of the child were. Aaron Shannon Jr. was outside showing his father and the other men his Spider-Man costume when shots rang out. The five-year-old was hit and died from a single gunshot wound to the back of his head. Two others were shot and wounded, but were not seriously injured.
None of the victims had any known gang affiliations. Hall was sentenced in July 2015 to 128 years to life in state prison after being found guilty of one count of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder by a jury.
