Man Arrested For Attempted Murder After Choking 9-Year-Old Boy

HIGHLAND – A 28-year-old Highland man is facing attempted murder charges after choking a 9-year-old boy, authorities said.

On November 11, 2016, at approximately 3:35 pm, Highland deputies responded to a report of an assault in the area of Buchanan Avenue and Pacific Street in Highland.

According to a press release, while the suspect, David Gresham and the 9-year-old male victim were on a walk near a park by San Gorgonio High School, Gresham choked the victim until he lost consciousness.

Family members located the victim, but Gresham was no longer with him.

The victim had injuries consistent with the assault and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Gresham was located approximately an hour later and was taken into custody for attempted murder.
