UPDATE 6/11/16– The Orlando Police Department has released the identity of the gunman who fatally shot Christina Grimmie as 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl from St. Petersburg, Fl.

Police say it appears that the suspect was alone and approached performer Christina Grimmie inside the venue after the show – as she was having a meet and greet with fans – and opened fire.

Christina Grimmie died from the gunshot wounds she suffered. Her brother Marcus is a hero and possibly saved countless other lives. He is not injured. There were about 120 people in The Plaza Live at the time of the shooting.


(VVNEWS.com)- The Orlando Police Department has just confirmed that 22-year-old Christina Grimmie has died from her injuries.

On Friday, June 10th, at about 10:45 PM., Grimmie was shot by an unidentified male following her “Before You Exit” concert in Orlando, Florida. She was hospitalized in critical condition and pronounced dead a short time later.

According to reports, her brother was present at the time of the shooting. He reportedly tackled the gunman before the unidentified gunman fatally shot himself. At this time, it’s unknown if Christina knew the shooter.

Christina Victoria Grimmie was born on March 12, 1994, in Marlton, New Jersey.

Christina was an American singer-songwriter known for participating in The Voice and for her covers of hit songs by contemporary pop musicians.
