Child Abuse Suspects Found to be Involved in Identity Theft

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif– On August 19, 2016, Deputies B. Ortiz investigated a child abuse case and arrested Scott White, 33, resident of San Bernardino as the suspect in the investigation.

During the investigation, Ortiz discovered an additional suspect identified as 28-year-old Naquesha Slaughter, a resident of San Bernardino.

On August 22, 2016, Ortiz authored a search warrant for Scott White and Naquesha Slaughter at a residence on the 25400 block of Pumalo Street in Loma Linda. The search warrant was served to collect evidence of the child abuse investigation.

During the search deputies located evidence substantiating the child abuse case. Deputies also located evidence that showed White and Slaughter were conspiring to commit other crimes such as identity theft. Deputies located illegal street and prescription drugs throughout the residence. A substantial amount of items such as stolen mail, ID cards, Social Security Cards, checks and credit cards were also located in the residence.

Slaughter was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center for PC 530.5 Identity Theft, PC 484e Credit Card Fraud and PC 475 Check Fraud. White, who was already in custody, was supplementally booked for the same charges.
